Jones, Nolen to wed Rev. Les and Dr. Dani Jones of Heflin announce the engagement of their daughter, Erica Marie Jones to Blake Nolen, son of Jeff and Glenda Nolen of Heflin. Ms. Jones graduated summa cum laude from Troy University in 2008 and received her Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama in December 2009.
Celebrating 40 years The Rev. Randy and Delinda Morris recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception held at the Heflin Recreation Center on December 11. The event was hosted by their children and their spouses: Kelly (Jessica) Morris of Heflin, and Kendra (Jonathan) Echols of Waco, TX. The couple also have their beautiful granddaughters, Abby and Hattie Grace Morris of Heflin and Hallie Shea Echols of Waco.

“Depression Ladies” birthday celebration On Feb. 20 four ladies from northeastern Cleburne County were honored with a joint 80th birthday celebration. Fondly referred to as the “Depression Ladies”, all live in the area of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where the celebration was held. Friends and family of Mrs. Margaret Day, Mrs. Dorothy Hulsey, Mrs. Ruth Piper and Mrs. Laura Shierling joined together for a covered dish supper and the exchange of remembered experiences.
Young, Holt to wed Tommy and Betty Jo Young of Heflin announce the engagement of their daughter Leisha Ann Young, to PFC Evan Mitchell Holt, son of Ronny and Shelia Holt of Heflin.
"The February 6 Festival of HEARTS was a huge success and we will do this again, possibly closer to school starting with the intent of raising money for back to school needs," said Jackie Howle.
Gary and Donna Robinson of Heflin announcenes the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Kayla Nicole Robinson to Landon Robert Thompson the son of Carolyn and Bob Roy of Heflin and Buddy and Lisa Thompson of Carrollton, Georgia.
